LEVIN STOCK. SALE. Messrs Abraham and Williams report:—At Levin on Friday we yarded large entries of both sheep and cattle and .have to report a highly successful sale. Practically all lots changed hands under the hammer at satisfactory prices. we quote:— Sheep.— Fat ewes 2(5s Id to 33s Id; fat wethers 375; maiden ewee and wethers (few) 40s; lorward ewes 24s od to 2os Id; fat and forward) wethers 80s 4d to 82s; lambs 16s 7d to 17s Od. Oats are •toady at slightly firmer rates. Wheat is offering freely at laab week'* prices, amd very little business is doing. Maize is firmer. Pollard and brand liave weakened slightly, probably on account of importations from Australia. Large consignments of pork arrived this week, but there is an excellent demand and prices have been maintained. Honey is wanted. Molasses tor stock feeding is in very good demand. Linseed oil cake is being used by farmers in .> increasing quantities throughout the province for all classes of stock. Owing to the prohibitive pFTco of copper sulphate (about 80s per cwt) lime s\vlphur solution is being largely used as a blight specific with very aat- . isfactory results. There is a keen demand for the beat classes of vegetables. * Choice cauliflowers realize 20s jnd upwards per sack, and cabbage also brings high prices. Varrots, white turnips and parsnips aro still selling wsU. Pumpkins and/ swedes show an improved demand. Apples are ln good dsmind and for choice ines high-jprioes •re ruling.
