He said it was a most jbjeotionaibie practice, carrying certain consequences about which he did no! care to speak just now. Counsel for the accused urged that the prisoner did not o-ppear in military uniform as a theatrical diiaplay, bat because it was a military offence lor a man to appear except in uniform. His Honour said he did not ibelieve for a moment that the military authorities, if there were such a regulation, would insist upon its enforcement. At thus stage the case was iaterrupted by a young woman, a witness, hunt, ing. flis Honour adjourned the ease and directed the accused' to appear on Monday, wearing emiian dress. Ha remarked tlfaat if any action wae taken 'by the mili'tary authorities fie would take the responsibility.
