Replying to eome of his best Liberal friends whom his fervour in prosecuting the war had somewhat shrieked, Mr Lloyd George emphasized that a badly conducted war .meant n bad peace and there should be no peace : n conducting the war. A Governm *nt should not only be resolute, but appear resolute and ready to fact the horrors of the. ■war. Tf they have confidence in their leaders the nation's spirit would be the propellani for its armies. Tlip -ofore it Was important that whate/or happened tlhe people should be confident that tho Government vrae doing its besrt in the firmest and most resolute manner in its conduct of the war.
