The Otaki Town Ruard, at its meeting last Thursday, decided to ask ur \\. iield, M.P., to take steps to have power to register dogs taken away from Maori Councils, and, should a similar measure be brought forward by any other local body, to give it hearty support. The present system of registration of Maori dogs in Otaki was considered very unsatisfactory. Hockey has now started in real earnest, andi it is evident that the season will be a successful one.
