It was admitted that the regulations granting free places were considerably easier now tnan they were a year or two ago. ino Minister rsaid that the regulations should be stiffened up: it was desirable for certain reasons to revise the conditions under which places were granted. / ! A conference of delegates representative of the New Zealand (Auckland district) Hibernian Catholic Benefit Soeietyi unanimously decided to send a cablegram to Mr J. E. Redmond, that the New Zealand Hibernians at, their annual meeting learned with abhorrence and regret of the disturbances 'in Dublin, andi desired to express their deep sympathy and entire confidence in Mr Redmond's just party and followers.
