WEDDING BELLS

» An interesting and pretty wedding took place yesterday afternoon in the Methodist Church, Levin, when Neil Blunden, second son d. Mr and Mrs w. v». Blundem, of Denbigh-street, Feeding, was married to Eveline Florence Gray, eldest daughter oi Mr and i-i.rs A Gray, Oxford street, Levin. The Rev. W. H. E. Abbey performed the ceremony and Mrs Nation presided at the organ., playing as the bridal party entered the Church "The Voice that Breathedi o'er Eden," and at' the conclusion Mendelsohn's "Wedding March.'- The church wae decorated finely; the beautiful floral designs, includng a fine wedding bell made of autumn blooms, suspended over the bridal couple, were cayried out by Mrs J Harvey and the Misses Butler. The bride's wedding dress was of ivoiy crepe do chene, trimmed with shadow lace, and she " wore the Usual Veil and orange blossoms, and carried a lovely shower bouq.uet made up ol sprays oi asparagus fern and autumn flowers. She was attended by her sister Mias Mabel Gray, as chief bridesmaid, and! also by her little sister, Ethel Gray, . and Esma Sh_ankland. The chief bridesmaid's dress was of embroidered frostedi voile with a black tuille hat, and the little girls were dressed m j white shadow lace frocKs And wore j lace caps trimmed with leaves "nd I autumn berries, and carried decorated crooks. The splendid bouquets and floral decorations (other than those in the church) 'were made and presented by Sliss Prouse. Sir P. Campbell, of Awaliuri, was best man. After the ceremony the guests to the number of about sixty, adjourned to Williams's teai'oom.s, where the wedding breakfast was served.- The Rev. Abbey proposed the health of the newly-married couple, and it was responded to by the bridegroom. "The Bridesmaids" was proposed by the brdegroom and replied to on their behalf by Mr Campbell. "The Parents," proposed by Mr E. M. Herrick, was replied to by Mr A. Gray; and "Absent Relatives and Friends," by Mr J. Harvey. This last was responded to by Mr A. Levis, who went with the Main Expeditionary Force and returned home some few weeks ago. The bridegroom's gift to the bride was n horse and rtfDbertyred gig complete, and to the ohiei bridesmaid a gold chain and pendant, and to the little girls a gold bangle each. An exceptionally handsome oi of wedding presents, included a cheque for the bride from her brother Corporal Gray, who is still at the front. The bulk of these came from the many friends in the South Island of the happy couple, who left in the evening for fhe north, travelling by motor car. The bride's travelling .dress was of tawn gaberdine with a (smart toque.
