AUSTRIAN ACCOUNT OF "DISARMING"
Amsterdam, Jan, 23. Tlio official communique published in Vioiuia yesterday says:— The disarming of the Montenegrin army,, which is the preliminary condition for further peace negotiations, is proceeding. The Austro-Huiigar-ian troops for this refraining from all hmstiie acts, lioive "began to march into the interior. Montenegrin soldiers, when meeting our detachments,- must surrender their arms. They wili be allowed,-if the surrender is effected without resistance, to remain in l their villages and continue their business, otherwise they will be forcibly disarmed and marched off as prisoners of war. This decision is based oil military reasons, aud the peculiarity of the country and its population. It will give peace to a country which for long years has been suffering from the strain of war. The Montenegrin hup* reme Command has been informed in this sense. . ! To-day's communique is an follows:— The laying down of arms by the Montenegrins continues. At numerous points in this cou'trtrv arnis have, * been given up. On the north-past , front of Montenegro more than I,oW rbians surrendered. The ports of A ntfvwi and Dulcigno hare been occupied by our troops.—Renter.
