Levin Teiniinatmg Building Scciety held its adyoiu-peu annual meeting last night when there was a lair attendance of shareholders. The chief business wa*> to receive the report of a special committee set up to consider and reipoit upon the position of the society and as to the advjtaiblenese oi' carrying on tlie 'business of the society. -Ur J3lenkhorn read tlie report, and intimated" that the recommendation arrived at had been "the result of caieru, consideration given- to the society .-> ailaira by the committee. In bru-1, Uio i recommendations were:—u) That' tin rule providing for the withdrawal from tlie society be amended so that no withdrawal could :be made except in ordinary cases; and (2) That the work of the society >be continued and allowed to run the "full term agreed upon in terms of Fhe constitution. The committee was convinced, from its investigations," that the work of the society ■■ could be' profitably earned on after nie'eting ajj obligations. . The reportwas iulopte'd and at a special meeting (which had been duly, summoned) the rules were .amended to- give effect to the cominittee's recoihmemdation as to withSrawfll from the eociety; : The annual oleotion of directors resulted'in the return of Messrs Douglas, TRemington. "Roe, Matheson and V.+olclsmi'Cli. A vote of thanks to the special committee '(Messrs Blonikh'orn, Matheson and \ Goldsmith) concluded the meeting.
