Mr Frank Penn lias left for Auckland, to represent tTie Otaki Motliodiist Curcuit at the conlerence to be held at that city, this week. Mr Jas Proust will represent the Levin circuit. Mr and Mrs Allen Bilk have decided to take up residence in Wellington, and will probably leave for tkeir destination -this afternoon. Mr Bills has been resident of Otaki for many years, having attended schtfol here when a boy. Both Mr an'd Mrs Bills jii-e popular and will be 'greatly missed by a large circle of friends. Messrs Askew Bros., the well-known bakers, have disposed of their business to Mr Watson,-of Weraroa, who takes IHJssession on April Ist. Mr Askew, i>ho has been in indifferent health, will probaibly leave next week for the Island to recuperate. He will b,} accompanied by Mrs Askew. It is probable that Mr Justice Chapman, accompanied by Mr W. H. Field, M.P. for Otaki, and others, will shortly make the ascent of Mt. Hector. Mr H. A. Lamb, Government auditor is in Otaki, with n view of making adjustments, etc., between the Horowhenua County Council and the Otaki Town Board.
