4 .Messrs A. iSiins (chairman), I'. O. Smith, \V. Thomson, T. Broome, 11. C. •U upper, W. Unil. N. 0. lloldaway, liev. I!, T. titcaley and net'. W. 11. li. Abbey and the head teacher, Mr J. Melntyre, were present at the special meeting of the Levin School Committee held last night in the schoolroom. The Borough Council having ret used' to carry on the sanitary work at taw school, it. was decided to place the matte. Tin the hands of the health ait thorites. A deputation from ihrtkara waited upon the committee requesting better accommodation for the horses ridden by tho children to school. It wa.s slated that three acres was not sudiricnt lor about twenty horses during school hours. Tho request was referred to the Education Board. Miss Cathie, ol Karon, was accepted for the .second position in the secondary school and Mr J. Connor was appointed relieving teacher in Mr Foss's position during the latter's absence a', the war. Mrs Bartholomew's transfer toy the board from ' her present postion w»ts objected to by the committee. MPs D. O. Hates has oeeu appointed to the relieving staff.
