The High Commiissioner ireports.— In the Argonne, close to Betlrinoourt the French destroyed reservoirs of poisouous gas. A fast German aeroplane was chasod by a French machine, who attacked with a mitrailleuse. The German machine was set oil fire and exploded. Two passengers were killed.

The Allies must decide immediately bolween reinforcements or re-embarkation. Rome, Dec. 8. A German communiqiio states:—We took prisoner 2000 and captured 80 guns on Tuesday near lpek. Bucharest, Dec. 8. The Government has called up the 1017 and 1918 classes oi recruits, and lias also mobilised and naturalized foreigners of military age.
