Sir,—l beg to thank you tor the mMjruoii of my last, but not least. the nrsi paragraph or so suggests either x or your proof reader are not strict abstainers; this by the way. I had a somewhat amusing experience this evening, when j. was button-holed by a Mr , who remarked: Mr l l '., did you ever see me otnerwise than sober! 1 replied! no. Well your lett; l makes this personal reflection and i cannot mid it otherwise. 1 suppose he read it downside up with care. Ol course jl was not aware then that my interrogator was tne successful applicant for a position on the borough staff. It would interest me, Sir, very much to know when, and which papy an advertisement calling applictifcio.it, has been in evidence. My true course in the matter of Mr - was to have denied the allegation and defied tho afiegator, but 1 denied the solt impeachment, and it remains "as you were belore you was." But what really astonishes me is the number of the ent recruits. 1 feel rough on rats, and if there is an disclaimers who may be directly concern-, ed "good enough," only let the replies through the usual channel be over their bona lide signatures, or else they ni-iy be pourtrayed as very ordinary rodents in the near future — Hy yours truly, W. M. J Levin, December 7th, 11)15
