[ I KUtU'kuiC TElilQUAl'tt—oO?Jf*jeHl.j fPXB FBESS ABBOCJVUON l FORD'S PEACE SHIP. New York, Deo 6. To the tune of "I didn't raise iny boy to be a soldier/' "Ford's Ark" has sailed. The nickname is due to Mr \\. J. Bryan, who in a farewell speech likened Ford to Noah. He hoped tho doves eent forth would return with an olive branch. The simile is appropriate as the whole vessel is decorated with stuffed* doves. , A series of ludicrous incidents accompanied the departure. A film- actor dived into the waters of the Hudson crying piteously "Take me with you." One of Ford's guests (Berton Brailey) a young poet persuaded the Rev. Jenlcin Lloydi Jones, a Chicago clergyman to marry him to Marion Lubencan, anotlier guest. The ceremony was performed in tho saloon. Aftsi Brvan and Ford nad kissed the bride it was ■ discovered that Jones had no authority to marry in New Jersey. Brailey comforted the brido with the remark: "Never mind dearie we will l)p. uiarriedi again on the high seas."
Ford was determined., that ho would not forget his mission. A series .>t wireless messages were commenced before the "Ark 1, reached Sandy Hook askinc America to pray lor peace.
