Potatoes are bxxn at last week's rates but are rather "slow" on account of new potatoes coming on the market in larger quantities. Pollard is him at last vvock'ti rate, lirtui is a little easier, thu business iu Chaff is slow, and the price lias weakened. Oats are about the same price ae last week. Wheat has again advanced- in value, but -we do not think it permanent; business m Uiiti; however, is much more brisk. Eggs have again advanced in price, and wo could d» with larger consignments. The selling price for porkers is very good; jve could do with larger cousigumeuts t>l these. Spring cabbage is in better demand and supplies are limited. Choice cauliflowers are in short supply, ana realising higher prices for well packed lines. Large consignments of lettuce have arrived in the market this week, and prices are easier. Very few swed«s arc offering, and high rates are ruling. Parsnips are in short supply, and prions good. Choice table carrots and turnips arc in better demand. Spring onions, leeks, and celery are in good supply. The market is well euppliou with rhulurb at lower rates. Nelson green peas are coming into the market iu larger quantity and prices have declined. Strawberries, cherries, and gooseberries are arriving in larger parcels, and causing keen competition. We solicit the consignments of those clients who do not send hides, skins, etc., to us.
