By section 0 of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, the Ministor of Lands is empowered! to assist -discharged soldiers taking up land under the Act, in respect to the following matters:—(a) The clearing, fencing, draining and general improvement oi the land.; (b) the erection of buildings, etc; (c) the purchase or implements, stock, seeds, plants, trees, etc. In the event of a discharged soldier being unaware of the position of any available lands, lie should advise tne Commissioner of Crown Lands, as to trie locality or district in which ho-desires to settle. Applications for lease or purchase on the deferredi payment system may similarly be mado.
