The manager speaks i:> approving terms of the manner 'n which the girls are carrying out the work allotted them, audi says he is pe<fectly satisfied with the success of the experiment. "Under such circumstances," adds the paper, ''there is no reason why it should not be extended and given a. chance of proving itself m other lactones, as every man of military age so liberated is a prospective i<cruit, and an answering cry to the appeal for help from our boys in trenches. In went the police, who demanded that the case should le instantly opened. This was dione, and it was found to contain bolte, rivals and some chains intended for a folding machine. Profuse apologies were tendered, and the suspicious-looking case resulted in "no case" after all, to file "inextinguishable laughter" of the staff who are all cold-water men.
