A MAORI'S DEATH

Dannovirke. This Day

The colonial inquiry into the death of Glenville .Barclay, iounrJ_..dead on Miller's road last Wednesday evening resulted in a verdict 'that death was due to a fracture of the skull, caused through being struck by a motor car, driven by some person unknown, -whilst deceased was under tho inouence of liquor. Evidence showed that deceased (on the evening on •which he wa.s killed) was found lying on tho road tfi an inebriated state. 110 explained to his discoverer that lie had been drinking to drown sorrow, having sent one son to

the Dardanelles and another into camp with the Maori reinforcements. This was shortly before lie was found doa<l.
