We repulsed an attack at- the outlet <if Popena Valley, and completed occupation of the southern slopes of Oral, repulsing two violent attacks at Ondil. There was determined lighting oil both sides -all Saturday at Carzo. Our infantry impetuously advanced and important positions were captured and recaptured several times by both sides. Sir John French reports: There lias been considerable artillery activity during the last three days southward ol La Bassee Canal, but- 110 infantry actions, apart from grenade lighting.
