Levin Bowling Club.
OPENING OF THE SEASON
Levin Bowling Club and Levin Ladies' Croquet Club, coujointly, opened the IUIS-1G season on Levin Bowling Club green yesterday. A chilly wind blew, but the weather was bright. Visitors were present troin Foxton, Shannon and Otaki. The president of tho dub (Mr F. G. Roe), in declaring tho green open, thanked the Ladies' Croquet Club for their co-operation and assistance. He welcomed the visitors and then called ui>on Mrs S. Hall to tlirow the jack in the absence of Mrs Hue. After Mrs Kirk had bowled tho .first bowl, play was begun. Two croquet teams from Foxton played against tho local ladies and >oCli their games At IjowJs, Otaki \o. 1 defeated Levin hy 25 to 1G ; Otaki N0."2 defeated Foxion by 2o to 15, and Shannon defeated Levin by £1 to IG.
