Red Cross Funds.
« MOVEMENT BY THE GOVERNOR. The Chronicle is in receipt of the tollowing telegram irom xiis Excellency the Governor"To the people of Now Zealand: As I have received many enquiries regarding Red cross matters, 1 think it would be well to hold u meeting with the object oi co-ordinating effort and preventing over-lapping. 1 propose therefore to invite two representatives from each oi tho four contres or the Order oi St. John, and one from each of the sub,-centres, while at the same time 1 should be very glad if other societies working for the same object would also "send one representative. The whole position could then be discussod, and it is hoped that the outcome of the meeting will be that a more satisfactory working basis will be arrived at. It is proposed to hold the meeting at government House, Wellington, on Wednesday, November 10th, at 10.15 a.m., find it is particularly requested that all societies desiring to be represented will communicate with aide-de-camp in waiting, stating tho name of the society and also that of its representative; so that some estimate can be formed as to tfffe probable size of the meeting.''—LlVEßPOOL, Governor.
