Tlie inspector ol awards at Uisborne has iiilormed tho Poverty Bay iieranl tliat the -Native shearers who have, by advertisement, been advising members of their union not to shear under JJ2 per JLUO, have been informed that they are liable to prosecution if they do not retract. The clause ol their agreement under the said conditions; and for the union is as follows: "Unwifuot to defeat provisions 01 agreement. Neither tho union or any member thereof shall do anything either directly for the purpose of preventing any person lrtnit working under conditions fixed by this agreement, or for the purpose of inducing any person to abstain from working under the said conditions; and for the purpose ol constituting a breach m this provision it shall not be necessary or oll'ender to have any particular person or persons in view at the time of the alleged offence."
