ADDJNGTON MARKET. * Christchurch. Sept 22. At Addington live stoofi market there • wei'c fairly large entries of fat stock and a moderate attendance. Primo bei!» showed an advance, the supply being shorter than in previous weeks. The few now season's fat lambs penned brought high prices, l'at sheep sold at about last week's rates. In the store sheep department hoggets and wethers showed a decided advance ;u value. Store Sheep.—Good ewe hoggets Ss 3d to 21s Id, fairly good owe hoggets 10s Od to 17s Od, good wether hoggets 17s to 10s Id, moderately good wether hoggets lis od to 10s, inferior hoggets 126 Id to 13s Cd. cuil hoggets 9s Id, •i and 0-tooth wetliers 20s 4d to 22s 3d inferior 2 and 4-tooth -wethers 17s od, 2-tooth half bred wethers 17s, inferior (i-tootli ewes (in lamb.) Bs. l'at Lambs.—There were nine now season's lambs .sent in and they sold remarkably well, prices ranging from 27s to 38s 6d. Fat Sheep.—Extra prime wethers to 00s, prime wethers 27s to 37s Od, others 21s OdJ.o 20* Od. merino wethers 19s 9d to 20s 3d, extra prime ewes to 39s (3d. prime ewes 25sio 32s Cd. medium ewes 19s to 24s 'id, liglit and inferior 17s 3d to 18s Od, hoggets lGs to 26s (kl. l'at Cattle—Extra prime steers to £21, ordinary steers £7 17s Od to £12, extra prime heifers to £16 10s, ordinary heifers £0 5s to £\), extra prime cows to £17, ordinary cows £0 to £8 12s Od; price of beef per 1001b, 30s to 5-Is, extra to 58s. Store Cattle—Yearlings 12s 6d, 15 to 18-month sorts £2 15s, 2-yoar steers £4. 2-year heifers £3 10s, o -year steers passed at £0 17s (3d, 3-year heifers £4 15s, dry cows £2 to £6 ss. Dairy cows £3 to £9 10s. Pigs—Choppers 55s to 137s (kl, extra heavy baeoners 80s to 89s Od, heavy baconers 70s to 78s. light porkers 38s to 'Us; price per lb, 03d to 7d. medium stores 22s to 28s. small 17s to 21s, weaners lis to 18s. sows with litters to 80s, sows in pig Jss to 60s. BURNSIDE PRICES. Dunedin, Sept. 22. At Burnside to-day 13-1 fat cattle were, yarded, the bulk being good to prime beef. As the yarding was below the average there was a rise of 5s to 20s per head as compared' with lato rates. Competition was keen and v splendid sale resulted. Prime bullocks made £14 10s to £10, extra to £22, medium £11 10s to £13, light £9 10s to £10 10s, beet cows and heifers £10 10s to £12 10s, extra to £15 sn. medium £8 10s to £9 10s, light £0 10* to £7 10s. l'at sheep.—'-'BOO penned, a large proportion being of excellent quality. The demand for well-hnished sorts was good and for them competition was keen at late rates. For unfinished the demand was not quite so keen, and prices were Is per head below quotations. Best wethers 35s to 38«, extra to 40s, good 32s to 345, medium 20ts to 27s 6d, light 2ds to 245, best ewes 30s to 34b, extra to 40s 3d, medium 22s to 245, light 17s Od to 21s. Eat lambs.—3B4 penned. Eor good quality hoggets competition was keen at late rates, but for unfinished sorts the demand was only moderate. Three of this season's lambs were penned and sold up to 26s 9d. 13est hoggets 20s to 30s, extra to 30s 9d, medium 20s to 225. Pigs.— 82 fats and 100 stores penned. Eat pigs met with a good demand, especially baconers, which were in short supply. Stores met with a slow sale, and towards the finish it was difficult to effect quittances. LONDON MARKETS. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received the following cables from their London office:—(lsth Sept). Tallow sales: At the auction sales the average price was higher by 9d per owt (20th Sept.) Wool sales: The tone of the market is rather better and the export licenso is being granted moro freely. JOHNSONVILLE SALE. Johnsonville, Sept. 23. Abraham and Williams Ltd. report on their Johnsonville sale as follows: A' heavy yarding of bullocks and a fair one of sheep came forward and sold at late rates.
