Another cii'urfc i« to bo ■ni.ulc to revive interest in Levin Chamber of Commerce, a bucly that lias dune a good deal to help on the town by promoting cheer settlement of the district, a,s well as in the .setting right of local business disabilities. Unfortunately the last tiro attempts to hold an annual general meeting L-iiled to secure enough aitondanee, but as this was due to the press of recurring meetings arising out the recent Queen Carnival meeting it is hoped thai in the present altered conditioiiß a revival of interest in the chamber will be evinced. A subject for discussion to be brought before the meeting will be a letter from the Pnlmcrston North Chamber of Commerce, dated 20bh September, on the subject of foodstuffs. The letter reads:—"My chamber asks for yo-ir kindly co-operation in bringing into operation the following resolution : 'That with a view of reducing the high cost of living (luring the ivar. the Government bo asked to negotiate with the dominions of Africa .aml Canada.' and tlie Commonwealth of Australia, with a view to arranging for an interchange of foodstuffs.'
