Heavy Hows of water and gas threatened to drown or suffocate the imprisoned passengers, but the police and firemen ontored the hole and rescued •seventy persons, badly injured, from the party buried car. Seven already are dead. SHIP ON FIRE. The Tuscania has arrived with 40U survivors from the Greek steamer Athenic, which was abandoned, on lire, at sea.
