WAIKAXAE SALE. -Uomi.s Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their monthly sale at Waikanae on Tuesday, 14th mst. A small yarding of both sheep and cattle camo forward. Ihe bidding, however, of .some lines offered was govd. and satialaetory sales were effected. The prices were as under-Store 2-tooth wethers -Is lOd; .springing heifers £4 to £5 3s; -'-year empty heifers £3 Ik LEVIN SALE At the Levin yards on Wednesday, loth ilist.. the same firm report having had a fair yarding of sheep and a heavy yarding of cattle. Competition was good mikl late rateis for store sheep wqre maintained. Fat sheep were over Is to Is (id per head doarer than the previous sale; also empty forward cows showed an increased price, and keen competition took place for all .such lines offered. The principal sales effected were as under.—
■Sheep.—.Medium woolly hoggets 17s Id to 17s lid; fat ewes and wetheiia 35s Bd. medium fat owes 27s 4d to 28s (id ; fat hoggets 21s 7d. Cm tie. Dalgety and Co., Ltd. offered a small yarding of sheep .and a heavy yarding of cattle, the entry meeting with good competition. Sales were as under:— Sheep: Fat wethers 345. Cattle: Fa t cows £0 4k to £6 12s (id; forward .store cows £4 8s to £5 7k (id; poor condition store cows £3 8s to £3 12s (id; springing heifers £3 ""5s to £4 10s; bulk £4 15s to £5 18s; 18montlis heifers £2 lO.s. On account of the Wounded Soldiers Fund two 'lieifers (donated by Mr J. Stevens) were sold and realized the sum of £11 7s Cd.
