"Fun on the Bristol"
« "Fun on the Uristol," or "'Widow OTirien, - ' will be staged at the Ring's Theatre Levin on Tuesday next, when Geoigc Stephenson's company of comedians made their iirst appearance hero. For over thirty years this musical farcecomedy has been staged all over the world where English is spoken. Its successes are unlimited and the revival of the popular tun-play is expected to prove acceptable to old and new playgoers alike. The plot is arranged around the endeavours of Widow O'Hrien, whose husband left her an enormous fortune made out of pork, and her two daughters in their attempt to enter society. xVn Italian- count, whose financial position is desperate, makes love to the two ladies until he finds the widow holds tho money. Ho then brings all his guns to bear, but misses very badly when his position is found out. The daughters also have their love affairs, but these turn out all right. From start to linish the story abounds in all kinds of merriment, songs, dances, and sketches are introduced. The company recently concluded a phenomenally successful season at the Grand Opera House, Wellington, and repcrts are highly flattering to the play and players. The box plans are on view at Aitkens.
