DEATH OF DR. BATOHELOE
Duuedin, Sept. 'I. The body otJDr F. U. iiatchelor. missing since 1 p.m. on Tuesday, was found -this morning near the track on the sandhills at the back of Xaliuna Tark Apparently he had been sitting down when he was suddenly .taken ill, and fell 011 his lace. One hand was in his pocket. PitOFESSOiR VON ZEDLITZ. Wellington, Sept. 2. Professor von Zedlitz has sent a letter to the chairman of Victoria College Council in which, alter reviewing the campaign against him, ne places himself unreservedly in the hands of the Council to take any c<;ur.se they plense towards him. He denies that lie is a Ger man subject and states that he has taken the oatli of allegiance to Queen Victoria. Edward VII and George V.. and would do so again u permitted. But in view of the fact that irresistible pressure is threatened against the College Council by the liigluot authority in the country, he fee's ii. duo to the Council that J 5 -,. should place himself in ths-ir huvcls.
