'i'j the People oi JNcw Zealand.— .Since iiiy lust announcement regarding the Hospital Ship Fund, i desire to inform the public that in accordance with the views expressed at the meeting held Jit Government House, Wellington, on the ytli July, 1 have disbursed the following aniount*;:— (1) i'or comforts tor the sick and wounded in Egypt £1000; {'2) to the High Commissioner for A'ew Zealand to bo devoted' to the Mount l'V'lix Hospital for i\ew Zcalamlers at Walton-on-Thame.s, Tn reponse to an appeal made by the Higlit Commissioner and Lord Plimket on behalf of the New Zealand Association in Great Britain JCSOOO (i propose to rsend the remaining X'oOOO shortly) ; (6) to the High Commissioner and Lord I'luiiKet ior tobacco and newspapers lor tlie sick and wounded at Malta and the Dardanelles £150; (4) for comforts for the sick and wounded at Trentham JCTOIS lOts Ixl; (5) lor No. 1 Bane Hospital. Egypt. TOGO. This leaver a balance credit of j 9s (id, or •Jβ (id alter the second £.3000 has been .sent to the High Oommistiiouer. The total expenditure up to date, including the equipment of the Hospital .Ship hats boon i' 21,005 10s Gd, and in accordance with die advice tendered to mo at the above mentioned meeting, 1 propose to keep in hand a sum of not less that £10.001) lor re-conditioning the Malieno."
