IS THE GULF OF RIGA. Petrograd, August 23. Official.—Naval reports show that on the 10th the enemy renewed his attacks on our positions at the entrance to the Gulf of Riga. Taking advantage of a thick fog, considerable enemy forces penetrated the guJi, our vessels tailing back while continuing resistance. The enemy sullerod appreciable losses in torpedo craft. Our gunboat Sivoutch perished gloriously in an unequal action with a cruiser which wild escorting torpedo craft. At four hundred metres distance the Sivoutch was a lire fore and aft, and continued to answer shot for shot until she was sunk, having previously sunk a torpedo boat. The enemy on the 21st, in view of his losses and considering the barrenness of his efforts, apparently evacuated the gull. I'rom the 17th to the 23rd we put out ol action or .sunk two cruisers, and not less than eight torpedo boats. At the same time our gallant Allies torpedoed in the Baltic one of Germany's most power! ill Dreadnoughts.
