In January, 1910, he (succeeded in defeating Mr Pike Pease at the Darling-' ton election, and he made his maiden speech in February, 1910. He withdrew from Parliament at the dissolution in December. In 1911 he met his - creditors, his liabilities being returned at £1,700. A composition of 5s in the pound was arranged.—London I Times. .
