The manager ol the fruit depot Mr D. Smart reports that llie past week ha* been very quiet, with little business 'and no change in prices iron) those ruling last week. For other produce the lollowing values are ruling: Eggs Is per dozen, butter Ik 2d per lb, potatoes £5 to £G and onions to 7s per cwt. LEVIN !STOCK SALE. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their weekly sale 111 the Levin yards on Wednesday, 18th instant, when they olfered, to a large attendance of the public a good yarding of sheep and a heavy yarding 0! cattle. Competition all through was exceptionally keen, and at the end of the day we succeeded in disposing of all lines of sheep under the hammer. In cattle no difliculty was experienced ill selling male stock, and good competition ruled for all steers olfered. Female stock were a little dull of sale, with the exception of good dairy heifers. Wo yarded some good lines ol tat wethers and ewes, and high prices were obtained tor these. From Wellington, under date ol last Friday, the N.Z. L and ji.A. Co., Ltd. report There wa<s a good attendance of buyers at the fortnightly sale. Fairly large catalogues ol : skins and hides, but only bag lots of wool, were offered. Good woolly skills recovered the drop experienced at last sale, but cshorlwoolled, pelts and seedy skins were neglected. Hides were linn at last sale rates. Tallow was by Gd Lo 0d per cwt. lower than bust sale prices HIDE AND SKIN KEPOItT Dalgety and Co., Ltd.. report:—We held a very successful sale of skins hides and tallow, when a full attendance ol buyers made spirited bidding for all lots. Practically everything was sold under the hammer at prices quite up to those ruling a fortnight ago, and taking into account the state ol both t-lid Home and Australian markets" this is very satisfactory.
