TJIh» NEW ZEALAND EAIUIEiIS' CO-OPEiI ATI VE DISTRIBUTING COMPANY, LTD. WEEKLY REPORT. Wellington, August- 12. I The potato market remains iirm, and tho demand is able to absorb all linos arriving. It is difficult to forecast the future value of table potatoes, but we do not anticipate any pronounced drop, at any rate lor the next mouth or so. Seed potatoes are selling ireely A few lirst-claes local onions arriving are in special demand; supplies troui America are expected shortly. lliere is a distinct weakening in the grain market ,except in oats, which are stationary. Wheat is lower, and barley very much lower than the values which havo been ruling ior some time past. L'ullard and bran have dropped 20s per ton. Clialf is considerably easier and hay is very hard to sell. . Doubtless tho mild winter and signs oi early spring have been potent factors in easing the market. Doiwevei, notwithstanding any severe weather that might be experienced, we do not anticipate the exceptionally high values to bo ruling again this year. Te demand for cauliflower continues to be good, and v> ell-packed lines are bought up. Ulioice savoy cabbage is liieettiing steady dernanu at slightly higher rates, ironbark pumpkins and marrows are scarce, and we could handle larger consignments.
