Entries close with the club secretary (Dr Davies) on Wednesday next ('2Bth' inst.).- The links were well patronised yesterday and the games were enjoyable. The players and visitors were entertained at afternoon tea. The weather was perfect, and tlio magnificent view obtainable trom Heatherlea, inclusive of Ruapehu Mount and the distant peaks of the Taranvas was I seen to special advantage, as were the I hills' of the Nelson and Marlborough ' coast, hut a haze to tho north-west hid J the sugar-loaf of Mount Egmont, which • in more favourable circumstances m»y i- be plainly discerned trom the lin^s.
