THJii NEW ZEALAND FARMERS" (JO-OPERATIVE DISTRIBUTING COMPANY, LTD. weekly"report. Wellington, August 12. The potato market remains arm, and the demand is able to absorb all lines arriving. It is difficult to forecast the future value of table potatoes, but •we do not anticipate any pronounced drop, at any rate for the next month or so. Seed potatoes are selling ireely A few first-class local onions arriving are in special demand; supplies lrom America are expected shortly. There is a distinct weakening in the grain market ,except in oats, which are stationary. Wheat is lower, and bailey very much lower than the value> which have been ruling lor some time past. Pollard and bran have dropped 20s per ton. Chaff is considerably easier and hay is very hard to sell. Doubtless the mild winter and signs ol early apring have been potent factors in easing the market. However, notwithstanding any severe weather that might be experienced, we do not anticipate the exceptionally high values to be ruling ggain this year. Te demand for cauliflower continues to be good, and woli-packed lines are eagerly bought up. Choice savoy cabbage js meeting steady defiiana at slightly higher rates. Ironbark pumpkins and marrows are scarce, and we could handle larger «ousignments. There .'s a good demand for lcttuce, which is in short supply. Swedes are selling low, and parsnips meet dull sale.
