LAYING DOWN A LAWN

The following is a good mixture, it procurable:— Crested Dog-tail, 21o~(s; Festuea lenuiloiia. -lib?; l*'estuca duruecula, 21bs; Luliiim lemiil'olia perenne, 201bs; White clover ,21bs; Trifolium minor, 6W)S; i'oii Nemoralis nnd Sempervireus ■libs of eacfi. This mixture will ufliie for lialf an acre, and will form a very good lawn, and if kept cut close answers most soils. Special mixtures for laying down lawns may also bo nad from any seedsman. Some of our native poa.s and other grasses would answer admirably tor lawn purposes. II the ground is of a retentive nature, sowing the seeds should uo deferred till August. Commence to cut as soon ats the machine will act. Some oreler the scythe for the first time of cutting. Koll previous to mowing; this will save the knives ot the mower. TWIOLVE O'CLOCK AT NOON' N Z.
