Like many others ol his kind, ho thought it necessary to put oil a dilapidated suit of clothes in -which to work, sc old anS ragged that no self-ret>pect-ing mechanic would have been seen in them. Thus it was that one day when approaching his house after an hour's work oil his bike he was addressed by a tramp. "Hop it, mate!" said the gentleman of the road. "What d'you mean—hop it?" .ske* the offended Biffin. "No good goin' there, matey. I've just tried the old girl and she's tiie stingiest finest old skinflint you ever came across!"
