The potato market lias been quiet during the week, and although iines have been olfering 011 the market it figures asked, f.o.b. southern ports, stdi buyers are operating within small . 111pass. Southern-grown up-to-dates, gamekeeper, and northern btar seeds are, however, in bdisk demand, and
good business has been transacted. Supplies are not plentiful, and growers ■.ire recommended to obtain their requirements without delay. Onions are quiet. Wheat is stationary. Oats slightly weaker. Barley ullering freely. Maize in fair demand. Alt niea-o are selling steadily. vnaff is in masale. There has been a pronounced diop in oaten straw chaff', on account of the Australian market having laliOiii, thus making export unprofitable There is also much larger- qualitity of hay offering than for .some time pa if sellers evidently anticipating an early rspring. Wheat-en straw is wanted, nd ire ask holders to write us early. Porkers are in good demand, and the supply of fresh lines are now -falling off rapidly. Bulk lines of honey are wanted. Malasses is now available.
The supply of cauliflowers is heavy at present, and vaiiles are lower, although first-class lines ar fringing good iiriees. There are also large supplies of cabbage, and low values .ire ruling in consequence. Painpkins and narrows are scarce, and we reconimend consignments. Lettuce is dull of sale. Swedes are also selling slowly, hut all other root vegetables are in fair demand, and bringing good prices. Spring onions, leeks, and parsley are keenly bought up at good prices.
