As a matter of fact the men were granted orders for tickets bv the Defence De-
uiueis lur uciveis oy me .ueieuce uvpartment and that Department has ; been debited with the value of the lares. 1 understand that four men joined the train without exchanging their orders for the usuul railway tickets, and were requested u.y the guard to pay Gd each which represents tho line usually inflicted on passengers who join the train at a booking station without lirst obtaining a "ticket.
