There is no change to note in prices 'though tlio tone of the market generally is weaker. Tliere its only a small amount of business doing in potatoes, stores at Chrietchurch and Lyttelton holding heavier stocks than has been the case at tlii.s time of the year ior a very long time past. This is due to heavy buying off the forks, the dearth of North Island orders, and the clow shipments to Australia. The crop m the Donvin-' ion wns also probably larger than irus estimated.
