Wellington, This Day. At the New Zealand fanners' Union Conference, remits regarding fhs disposal ot the National Endowment oi Lands was further uiscussed. The general opinion lavoiireu a proposal that such lands should be sold for cash or leased with Liie option oi purchase. Tin question at issue was as to now money so raised should be expended so a* to increase the value of the endowment. The conlerence eventually agreed to the main proposal, and uy l"i votes to 11 negatived the proposal that moneys arising irom sale oi endowments lands be rc-inrested. The conference resolved "That as the present system of valuing land lor taxation purposes has proved a complete lailure, owing to the impossibility ol accurately separating improved from unimproved value, the conlerence considers it would be a fairer and much simpler way to fax oil the annual value with the same exemptions as are given to capital invested in other mdustiies; the annual value to be o pel' cent ol the capital value."
