TIIE CORONATION CEREMONY.&
Uio Coronation ot the elected Queen provide* an exact reproduction of the ceremony which is conducted at Westminster Abbey , except that the re]igioii.s portion ol it is omitted in this case. The Queen enters the Throne Itoom together with the Lord High Chancellor and the Chief Justice, and she is accompanied by her Ladios-in-Waiting, who were the rival candidates lor the position of Queen, all being most handsomely robed in their chowen colours, and with them come the Maids <-f Honour and Pages, about sixty in number. In the procession which provides a fine spectacle are also the Sword-Bearers, the Canopy-Bearers, and the various Officers of Stale. When the' Queen has ascended to the Throne, the Chancellor then calls on those present to witness the crowning of the Queen, which is solemnly carried out by placing the Grown on her head. After this is carried out, Her Majesty then proceeds to confer honours on Ker leading subjects. When tills necessary function has been carried out Her Majesty then proceeds to hold a Court of presentation, when each of tlie Maids of Honour and each Lady-in-is duly and solemnly presented to Her Majesty.
