Beef tea in 2oz Lotties from Is. to Is 2d; in skins, from 8s to 9s per lb; beeswax. 2s to 2s 3d per lb; chicory, tsd to lOd; smoked fisli. od to 6d and oil; finned fruit, ljd; and macaroni Oatmeal in 71b bags will cost Is yd next month as against Is (id to-day .Macon is being advanced another Id per lb. Notable increases per pound since the war began are:—Butter 2d and 2jo. Ijaooii 3d to -fif. cooked meats -Id io 6(1. Cheshire cTsee<se 3d ,and pork sausages 2ld. *
At the greengrocer's turnips have risen from <ld to Is a bunch: tomatoes from 6d to lOd ; and French beans troiii -Id to Is per lb; Tasmaniau eating apples from Is 6d to 2s fd for 51b; cooking apples from Is to 2s for 51b: carrots from -fd to Gd and Is a bunch.
The fishmonger's prices have advanced on an average 25 per cent. Brill is <3d per lb dearer. Herrings cost troin 2s to 2s Od a dozen, as against J.« ton months ago. Hake has advanced 3d per lb; cod from 8d to !0d and is per lb. Salmon remains about iho same as 2s per lb.
