Motor Car Raffle

The drawing for tlie motor car raffled by the Levin Carnival Committee, took place in the Century Hall last night.. The number present was small, because, no doubt, of the unpleasant weather. During the) day the butts of the tickets were examined, rolled up and scaled in a Box by Messrs Mclntyre, Rockell and Harding. It was a task which occupied over four hours, as considerably over 5000 tickets had to be dealt with. The seals of the box were broken on the stage in he evening, a few more butts 'added under the superivsion of the Mayor, Messrs Hughes, Simpson. Kingdon. Goldsmith, McKegg, Bagrie and Harding. The rolled papers then were tipped out on a carpet, well mixed. returned to the box, and the winning number drawn by a little girl, a stranger to Levin. The number oil the butt drawn was 38'31 and boro tho name, "Cununerfield, Foxton."
