Queen Carnival
A meeting of the Levin entertainment committee was held m the Council Chambers on J-'riday evening. Air \V. Hughes, chairman, presided. Mr Is. K. Gardener said that it had been decided in consultation with the chairman, and on the suggestion of Professor Cardston, to hold the coronation ceremony on Friday instead oi' Wednesday as previously decided. This would give the children who were coining from Wellington to fake part -n the ceremony two days. Again on Wednesday the hull would be occupied by another meeting in the day, and tliey perhaps would not have time to arrange the decorations in the hall. About thirty children were expected to come from Wellington and they would bring their costumes. Their presence would add greatly to the ceremony. Die decision to hold the ceremony on t'Viday was confirmed. After some discussion it was decided to call a. meeting .;! the general committee to make the final arrangements on Tuesday evening next.
On the suggestion of Mr Gardener, scats will be reserved for all those, who purchase 3s tickets before the performance on Friday, the tickets L o bo presented at the door before 7.30 p.m. to entitle the holders to a reserved seat. On no, account will seats bo held in reserve after that time. The committee will meet at the Century Hall at 8 p.m. <m Monday to consider what seats will be ■reserved and the lighting arrangements.
