LAYING DOAVN A LAWN. When it is desired to form a lawn, iho ground should be trenched aa directed for the vegetable garden any time during the autumn. If the plot can be prepared in March, a season n:ay be gained by sowing the seed during that month; the surface must be thoroughly pulverised and trodden down firmly.
