[per press association.] Wellington, July 11. lias been issued by Messrs •x. and Howard, acting on benalT of the Bank of New Zealand, against the proprietor of the newspaper [New Zealand Truth claiming a total of £10,000 damages for alleged libel. There are understood to be two distinct actions. The one is for £5000 in respect to a criticism of the Bank's balance-sheet and report and its administration, appearing in the paper referred to published oil the 19th June - and signed "Cambist." The other is > for a like amount in respect to a contents bill advertising the said issue of Truth and bearing the works "Bank of New Zealand; a position of extreme gravity." i
