Probably the market will come back shortly, owing to exportation being prohibited by the Government. Onions are slow of sale. There is a slightly easier tone in the oaf market. Wheat is unchanged. The recent shipment or Java Maize haa eased the market, which was 'previously baro. Bran and pollard are in short supply. All meals 'are in good remand also linseed oil cake. Large sales have been made during the past few days of English rape, farmers realising the importance of not risking -the cheapcr seed sent from France aaid Japan. Baled straw is in short supply. .Oaten straw chaff is now available, and as brokers are endeavouring 'to obtain supplies for Australia, a ready sale is anticipated. Clients are advised to book •without delay. Pork pigs are in better demand. Both fresh and preserv ed eggs arc dull of sale; this no doubt is owing to recent arrival oi American eggs. White clover honey is enquired for Poultry is in better demand than for some time past. Mount Lyall superphosphate is now available, a shipment being due in a tew days. Indications are that basic slag will be in medium supply from July onwards. Vegetables.—The demand for cabbages is slow, and are being sold at unpayable rates. There is a better demand for choice cauliflowers, but inferior' lines meet slow sale. The demand is unsatisfied for ripe marrowsand ironbark 'pumpkins, and largei consignments could be handled. Lettuce; arc selling at higher rates. .Swede; are dull of sale. All root vegetables are selling at last week s rates. Sprinjj onions,. leeks, and celery are meeting fair demand. Fruit.—The demand still remain.good for choice cooking and dessert apples, but there is very -jlow sale toi inferior lines.
