London, July 1. The- German attack repeated in the Argonne yesterday waa particularly Violent; the forces engaged ■ equalled two divisions. The attack" was arrested. Two fresh attempts on the French •trenches! .at Dinar ville road were repulsed. A violent enemy attack in the region of Metzeral was stopped completely. The German, losses were iinr'portant. Enver Pasha returned to Constantinople with thirty-five Turkish officers, handcuffed. They'were accused of participating in a mutiny against ths Germans. The ringleaders were hanged. (Received This Day 1.35 p.m.) DIESTROYER LIGHTNING DAMAGED. . London, July 1. The Admiralty announces that a mine or torpedo damaged the destroyer Lightning off the East Coast last night. She is now in harbour with fourteen of her crew missing.
