Henri French.
A GREAT ENTERTAINER. I The gift of originality that stamps a man as being above the ordinary belongs to Henri French, and fully entitles him to the term "great." So original and quaint are l<'reach's methods, that for the first ten minutes last night at the King's (Theatre the audience sat non-plussed, then the personality of the man on the stage took hold, and right to the close, those present showed their keen appreciation of the wonderful juggling, and clever bnlanc ing feats and sharpshooting. Mw! amusing was his parodying of some of the tricks shown 'by ordinary - of-hand experts. Often when the audience thought they were watching a triok, the methods of which would take a week's study to solve, rienri French showed them that it was childishly simple. But it is for his performances on the single wheel that Henri French chiefly has won fame—and justly Bis riding and 'balancing on the single wheel, without handle bars, last night was a wonderful feat, and his evolutions on the pair of high single wheel skates were intricate and done cleverly. The sharpshooting earned hearty applause and his playfng of the "Marseillaise." and "It's a Long, Long War to Tipperary" on the mandoline was encored vigorously. The whole entertainment was one of the best yet seen in Levin.
