A fui'ther advance has taken place in the values of potatoes. As their o is prospects oi trade with Auatraili later ,and the iSoutii Island ci'ops arj light, higher prices may oe looked tor. Onions are still slow ot sale. There Is a slightly easier tone in the oat market. Wheat is unchanged. TEe recent shipment; ol maize iroin Java Jias eased the market, winch iwas previously ibaie. All lueali are in good demand, alio linseed oil eaise. Large bales have been made during the \vee£ of Engiish-gruwn rape, iarmers realising tlie importance oi not risking thu cheaper seed irom France and Japan. iMGlasses is still shorty but supplies are expected about the end oi the month. Chaff is firmer and in good demand. Oaten straw chaff i« now available, and as brokers are endeavouring to buy tor Australia, a ready sale is anticipated and clients are advised to book without fieiay. .Pork pigs are in fair demand. Eggs have come back in prioe, quite contrary to all expectations. We thinU values will lim again shortly. Bulk honey is wanted in large quantities ■Poultry of good quality is now in muoii better demand than lor some time past Mount Lyall tiuperphospnosphate is now available, a shipment 'being due iu about a week. Indications are that basic slag will ibe in medium supply iro.n July onwards.

Vegetables—Large supplies of cabi&age are coming to nana, and sales are Being ma3e at low rates. There is a fair demand for cnoace cauliflowers, and well packed lines realised satisfactory prices. The uemand is unsatisfied for ripe marrows and ironbark pumpkins, and large consignments could be handled. Lettuces meet fandemand. Swedes are dull of sale. All root vegetables are easier in price.
